The Skyway Casuals are an official supporters group of the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The group consists of supporters that reside south of the Sunshine Skyway on Tampa Bay. The group began in 2017 and boasts a quickly expanding membership. They are a current member of the Independent Supporters Council.
This project was to design a logo for their tailgates, that will be produced as decals and apparel. The Casuals set up in turn 5 of Al Lang Stadium’s parking lot, hence the name of the tailgates. They wanted a football feel to be included with a barbecue.
Design 1
This design was to convey a classic football feel to the group. The colours used are identical to the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
Logo UPDATE
The original logo was a flat vector that was just green and yellow. The logo was updated to show more depth and the Latin wording of “War Pelican” was added. The pelican is the Rowdies mascot.
Design 2
This design was a more modern take on the tailgate. A simple yet bold icon that promoted the group.
SOCIAL MEDIA GRAPHICS
These designs are used on Twitter and Facebook to promote games and watch parties for Rowdies games.
Design 3
The third design was to emulate a team emblem. The red and white was used to mimic the painted curbs are the tailgate location.
